AVID MICROCHIP IMPLANTATION

The 21st century is here, and the Gretna Animal Hospital is proud to provide you with this inexpensive, technological wonder. As an official AVID microchip scanning facility, we can implant a small microchip in your pet by means of a simple subcutaneous injection. Once implanted, the chip will provide your pet with a permanent identification for its lifetime. If your pet escapes and is turned into a local animal shelter, the shelter will scan the animal for a chip and immediately notify AVID on their 24 hour hotline. If you have registered your dog or cat in AVID's PETtrac program, then they will contact you directly. Otherwise, our office will be notified by AVID, and we will contact you regarding your lost pet.

Tragically, every 2 seconds a family pet is lost. Most are never returned because their owners fail to identify them properly, or their collar is removed or lost. With the AVID microchip, your pet will never leave home without its identification, since the chip can't fade or fall off. By implanting your dog or cat with the AVID "Friendchip" microchip, it will benefit from AVID's PETtrac global recovery network, and provide your pet with a safety net of protection for the rest of its life.
