WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN YOUR PET IS BOARDED
We are members of the American Boarding Kennel Association. Please ask to visit our kennels. We take great pride in the care we provide your pets while they stay with us.

ADMITTING:
Your pet may be admitted to our kennel during regular kennel hours, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. All animals must be free of external parasites upon admittance, or your pet will be dipped upon admittance with an appropriate insecticide at the owner's expense. Similarly, all pets must have current, verifiable vaccinations (within one year) for all infectious diseases, or vaccinations will be given upon admittance at the owner's expense.

HOUSING:
All of our canine friends are kept in protected indoor-outdoor runs and are exercised daily during "playtime" in our grass exercise yard. Our feline friends are kept in large cages and exercised daily during "playtime" in the ward area. Central heating, air conditioning, and smoke detectors are provided in the kennel areas.

FEEDING and MEDICATIONS:
We feed Science Diet and Prescription Diet pet foods as our regular diets in the kennel. However, should your pet require a special diet, then we encourage you to bring this diet to the kennel at the time of admittance. Normally, our feeding time is in the early evening hours, but we will be happy to accommodate your pet if different or more frequent feeding times are required at no extra charge. All medications left by you will be administered to your pet as directed free of charge. However, a pharmacy charge will be assessed for medications supplied by our pharmacy while your pet is kenneled.

MEDICAL TREATMENT:
In case of emergency, the Gretna Animal Hospital requests permission to perform any therapeutic or surgical procedures deemed necessary at the owner's expense. Every effort will be made to notify you prior to initiating therapy. Therefore, please leave an emergency telephone number with us to allow us to contact you if an emergency occurs. If your pet is under another doctor's care, then we will also consult with your regular veterinarian immediately to determine the proper care for your animal.

DISCHARGING:
Boarding pets are discharged during regular kennel hours, Monday through Saturday. A complimentary bath (no charge) will be given to all dogs prior to discharge. All charges are to be paid in full at the time of discharge by one of the following methods: VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, CHECK, CASH. THANK YOU for letting us care for your pets while you are away from home. We will try to make their stay with us a happy one, as if they were at home!

ATTENTION BOARDING CLIENTS

EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2007:  To ensure the safety of your animals, we will be requiring a local emergency contact and/or your contact numbers at the time of drop-off.  The clinic will not be boarding any animals in case of a hurricane.  Be sure to inform your emergency contact that they may have to pick up your animals in case of a hurricane or storm.  We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, but remember this is to ensure the safety of your beloved pets.  Thank you for your cooperation and if you have any questions, please be sure to ask anyone on our staff.
